We organise the art classes, you just turn up!
A little about me...
My name is Nicky. I am based in Gloucestershire and I have 35 years experience in the art trade. When I was 16 I ran an art shop with my father and he eventually made me a partner. We sold art materials, had a art gallery, did picture framing and had demonstrations. I also attended training courses and as a result my knowledge of art materials is extensive.
My father retired when he was 70. After a working break for 12 months I opened up my own art shop with some help from my father. It was a smaller shop but I still sold the same extensive range of art materials. I visited art clubs and societies, attending their demonstrations and I sold art materials there. I also organized workshops and classes. After 16 years trade dropped due to on line selling, parking issues and overheads. I made the difficult decision to close the shop.
I have since been working in a retail environment but still organising workshops and classes which are proving successful. I am now doing this full time. I basically organise and coordinate the workshops working alongside professional artists that also teach. I also attend all the work shops and classes to ensure it's smooth running and sell materials specific to that workshop. I offer a large variety of subjects to suit all levels and tastes and different techniques and effects. They are presently suitable for adults of all ages. I use different venues but the main one is Highbury church hall in Cheltenham. The venues will all have parking and excellent facilities. Tea and coffee is available all day at no extra charge. I will also start covering other local areas.
"I am enjoying the classes. It is quite a challenge and a new technique for me. The venue is good with plenty of room and facilities including the car park. It is good to be able to buy supplies."
"I am enjoying the watercolour classes. I went accidentally as a friend could not go and I am surprised how much I am enjoying it! I didn't do watercolours at all but am quite enthused now!"
